Human Body Chakras
(Junction points of Central Nerve System)
In India, acharyas[1] and yogis[2] talk about the Chakras which are nothing but the junction points of various nerves at the spinal cord and the brain area. There are 7 main chakras. The first 5 chakras, counting from bottom, are related to spine cord and last 2 chakras are related to brain. If the all chakras work properly there will not be any disorder and disease as all the organs and endocrine glands of the body are linked with the Chakras. In the tabular form given below the location of chakras, organs or body parts energized by the chakras and disorders on malfunctioning of chakras:

1. Muladhara Chakra (Root support) |
Ø Located at base of the spine or coccyx area in coccygeal region; Ø Contains red prana; Ø Red prana are used in energizing and strengthening the entire visible physical body; and Ø Part of its energy is also used by head. |
ü Influence the smell sense; ü Muscular and skeletal system particularly legs; ü Spine; ü Production and quality of blood produced; ü Adrenal glands; ü Tissues of body and internal organs; ü Growth rate of cells; ü Growth rate of children; ü General vitality; ü Body heat; ü Effect the heart; and ü Functions of sex organs responsibility shared with next chakra.

2. Swadhisthana Chakra (One’s own place) |
Ø Located at the pubic area; Ø Contains orange prana; Ø Orange prana are used for expelling and eliminating waste matter from the body; Ø Part of its energy is used by throat and head; and Ø It is said sex energy is transmitted to creative energy to activate the brain cells.

3. Manipur Chakra (City of Gems)

Ø Located on the naval; Ø Emerges from lumbar region of spine; Ø It responsible for circulation of prana within the meridian. |
ü Small intestine; ü Large intestine; ü Appendix; ü Speed of giving birth; ü Pancreas; ü Spleen; ü Liver; ü Often called second brain; ü Affects general vitality; ü Effect to anus also; and ü Effect to eyes

4. Anahata Chakra
|
Ø Comes out between upper thoracic vertebrae and manifests through the cardiac plexus and the thymus gland. |
ü Heart problem such as palpitations, tachycardia, upto angina pectoris and even cardiac infraction; ü Disorder of lungs; ü Entire tactile response from the skin; and ü Procreative genital function

o Negative emotions have detrimental effects on the physical heart in the long run. |

5. Vishudhi Chakra (Purity) |
Ø Located at the center of the throat; and Ø Last chakra on the spinal cord. |
ü Thyroid gland (over or under active by mental stress; ü Voice box called (larynx) ; ü Air tube (trachea); ü Parathyroid gland ü Pharyngeal plexus ü Lymphatic system ü Ear as sense; and ü Sex chakra

6. Agya / Ajana Chakra (Command) |
Ø Started about where the eyebrows cross and extended where pituitary gland rests; Ø Its colors changes as per psychological state of a person; Ø It is center of WILL or DIRECTIVE function.

ü Nasociliary plexus; ü Frontal lobes of the brain; ü Pituitary gland; ü Pineal gland; ü All major chakras; ü Endocrine system; and ü Thereby entire body.

7. Sahasrara Chakra (Crown) |
Ø Located at the crown of the head; Ø Thousands of thousands brain cells; Ø It is entry point of the divine energy or electric violet pranic energy; Ø It is center of highest COSMIC CONSCIOUSNESS means understanding the subject matter without much study; Ø Feeling of oneness in all; Ø Loving kindness to all.
